Kalidi by Gale-OneOfMany Kalidi by Gale-OneOfMany
A small rahi found in the depths of caves. It's soft tissue creates an iridescent glow that varies in intensity and color based on it's mood, though for the most part, they glow different shades of blue. Their body is covered in a natural turtle type shell that they grow made from carbon heavy proteins they produce which protects them from predators. This armoring shell grows in various places on their body, always covering the back and occasionally covering the head and limbs. It's arms are often born in a shovel type shape, appearing more like the flippers of a penguin than anything else, which it uses for digging extensive tunnel systems and digging for prey. It is a generally docile creature and is usually found in extensive herds which may contains two or more 'families' of these creatures. It feeds off of insects and other small creatures it finds in the caves, using an extraordinary sense of hearing to locate prey. When it's natural food supply is low, the creatures posses an amazing ability to turn minerals in water to chemical energy they can use. This creature is often employed as workers in mines or taken as pets by onu-matoran.

Second tablescrap of the day, and my personal favorite. He stand a few studs short of Mags and I plan on trying to keep him around a while.

Enjoy :)

Damnit, I some how hoverlooked this MOC or didn't realize it was yours Gale. I'm sorry about this.

MOCwise, I love this cute little bugger. He does look like he'd make a great pet for an Onu-Matoran. I don't know if this would add to Kalidi or distract from the simpler vibe you're going for, but I believe some time this year, but if not then next year lego is launching a new line called Mixelsand its speculated that that red dude's eyes are printed old style ball joints. So that might give this little guy a chance to have some actual eyes. Maybe they'll work maybe they'll distract from the look he has now. The cool thing we know about these sets is their price points are all relatively low. They're supposed to be a line of small sets that are interchangable or what ever, meaning you can "mix" em up. Anyways that's that. I kinda like the beady eye look he has though. MOC wise its a cute little guy and I like the concept of his bio. Which brings me to my next point.

If he's a rahi you could probably do a bit better to make these things tie into the canon a bit better. They eat insects? Which Insects? I'd imagine they'd live in the archives of metru Nui to. Look, I suggest you study up on stuff a bit more. I use Biosector Its super useful for learning official stuff, and unlike other wikis, its moderated and sources stuff, not just "herpa derpa derp this guy did this and that because wouldn't that be cool?" Na its way more legit. I suggest you look at my Bionicle tie in bios to get a few ideas. With Canon Bio stuff, the richness is in the details. :)

Lol, don't worry about it man, same thing happens to me all the time.

Glad you like him though :) I honestly like the eyes that he has now, though I am going to have to take a look at those new eye things... :plotting:

And yeah, I know it could be more canon. If I wasn't such a lazy ass and looked up stuff I could've made it a bit better. I'll work on that in the future. Maybe XD

Not with me at least. We've got like a billion correspondences going back and forth from all our commenting on stuff. :P

Kinda figured you'd say that. Just thought I'd throw it out there. But yes dems mixels look tasty and what's cool is if they really are a whole series of low pricepoint sets, they'll be fare more accessable. Goodies and greebles for not a whole lot of monies. Sounds like a perfect system series for BioMOCers.

Well, feel free to send me a note or what ever or write a bio in stash with the stash writer and we can talk about it there. I've seen your stories/bios, you can do a lot better than this Gale.

That's definitely the exciting part of this series, cool parts, possibly new parts, recolors, and not for a whole lot of money to get it all.

Haha, I must be a bit older than you then... The Dark Crystal was an awesome fantasy movie from 1982 directed by Jim Henson from The Muppets. The whole cast were made up from puppet characters, some of which still look amazing today over 30 years later. The Garathim were the big baddie soldiers: hulking black beetles with an armored carapace and huge lobster claws. Although the film itself is awesome, the trailer is pretty lame... I found this video of someone who made one as a cosplay outfit, it's unfinished, but pretty accurate (apart from the sneakers!) I'm sure you'll see what I mean about the design and shape :D www.youtube.com/watch?v=2FWCnr…
